TL;DR: The reduction scales with calculated level repulsions, suggesting that mu+ depolarization by slow fluctuations of nonresonant Ho3+ spin states is partly suppressed when resonant tunneling opens new fluctuation channels at frequencies much greater than the muon precession frequency.
