Journal ArticleDOI
The Molecular Characterization of Bovine Leukaemia Virus Isolates from Eastern Europe and Siberia and Its Impact on Phylogeny
Marzena Rola-Łuszczak,Aneta Pluta,Monika Olech,Irina Donnik,Maxim Petropavlovskiy,Anton Gerilovych,Irina Vinogradova,Bhudipa Choudhury,Jacek Kuźmak +8 more
TL;DR: A significant number of amino acid substitutions were found in the sequences of the studied Eastern European isolates, of which 71% have not been described previously, and highlight the use of sequence data to both elucidate phylogenetic relationships and the potential effect on serological detection of geographically diverse isolates.
Journal ArticleDOI
Presence of Vaccine-Derived Newcastle Disease Viruses in Wild Birds.
Andrea J. Ayala,Andrea J. Ayala,Kiril M. Dimitrov,Cassidy R. Becker,Iryna V. Goraichuk,Clarice Weis Arns,Vitaly I. Bolotin,Helena Lage Ferreira,Anton Gerilovych,Gabriela V. Goujgoulova,M. C. Martini,Denys Muzyka,Maria Angela Orsi,Guilherme Pereira Scagion,Renata Khodair Silva,O. S. Solodiankin,Boris T. Stegniy,Patti J. Miller,Claudio L. Afonso +18 more
TL;DR: The reverse spillover of live agents from domestic animals to wildlife as a result of the expansion of livestock industries employing massive amounts of live virus vaccines represent an underappreciated and poorly studied effect of human activity on wildlife.
Journal ArticleDOI
Zoonotic and Reverse Zoonotic Transmissibility of SARS-CoV-2.
TL;DR: In this article, the authors described the known properties and the existing gaps in scientific knowledge about the zoonotic and reverse transmissibility of the novel virus SARS-CoV-2 and the COVID-19 disease it causes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Spatial multi-criteria decision analysis for modelling suitable habitats of Ornithodoros soft ticks in the Western Palearctic region
Laurence Vial,Els Ducheyne,Serhii Filatov,Anton Gerilovych,D.S. McVey,I. Sindryakova,Sergey Morgunov,A.A. Pérez de León,Denis Kolbasov,E. De Clercq +9 more
TL;DR: These first models provide a useful tool for estimating the global distribution of Ornithodoros ticks and targeting their surveillance in the Western Palearctic region and featured a relatively good accuracy with an average Area Under Curve (AUC) of 0.779.
Journal ArticleDOI
Wild bird surveillance for avian paramyxoviruses in the Azov-black sea region of Ukraine (2006 to 2011) reveals epidemiological connections with Europe and Africa.
Denys Muzyka,Mary J. Pantin-Jackwood,Borys Stegniy,O. Rula,V. Bolotin,Anton Stegniy,Anton Gerilovych,Pavlo Shutchenko,Maryna Stegniy,Vasyl Koshelev,Klavdii Maiorova,Semen Tkachenko,Nataliia Muzyka,Larysa Usova,Claudio L. Afonso +14 more
TL;DR: The wild bird species most likely to be infected with APMV is identified, and data support possible intercontinental transmission of APMVs by wild birds.
