Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of glyphosate on the sperm quality of zebrafish Danio rerio
Fernanda Moreira Lopes,Antonio Sergio Varela Junior,Antonio Sergio Varela Junior,Carine Dahl Corcini,Carine Dahl Corcini,Alessandra Cardoso da Silva,Vitória Gasperin Guazzelli,Geórgia Cruz Tavares,Carlos Eduardo da Rosa +8 more
TL;DR: The results showed that glyphosate can induce harmful effects on reproductive parameters in D. rerio and that this change would reduce the fertility rate of these animals.
Journal ArticleDOI
Toxic effects of the herbicide Roundup in the guppy Poecilia vivipara acclimated to fresh water.
Cyntia Ayumi Yokota Harayashiki,Antonio Sergio Varela Junior,Anderson Abel de Souza Machado,Liziara da Costa Cabrera,Ednei Gilberto Primel,Adalto Bianchini,Carine Dahl Corcini +6 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that exposure to environmentally relevant concentrations of Roundup may negatively affect at long-term the reproduction of P. vivipara, with consequent changes in fish populations inhabiting environments contaminated with the herbicide.
Journal ArticleDOI
Melatonin delivery by nanocapsules during in vitro bovine oocyte maturation decreased the reactive oxygen species of oocytes and embryos
Mariana H. Remião,Caroline G Lucas,William Borges Domingues,Tony Silveira,Nathaniele Nebel Barther,Eliza Rossi Komninou,Andrea Cristina Basso,Denise Soledade Jornada,Ruy Carlos Ruver Beck,Adriana Raffin Pohlmann,Antonio Sergio Varela Junior,Fabiana Kömmling Seixas,Vinicius Farias Campos,Silvia Stanisçuaski Guterres,Tiago Collares +14 more
TL;DR: When melatonin was encapsulated in LNC and applied during in vitro oocyte maturation, some quality aspects of the blastocysts were improved and melatonin-LNC proved to be more effective at decreasing ROS levels and the apoptotic cell number/blastocyst.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of exposure to cadmium in sperm cells of zebrafish, Danio rerio.
Izani Bonel Acosta,Antonio Sergio Varela Junior,Estela Fernandes e Silva,Tainã Figueiredo Cardoso,Jôsie Schwartz Caldas,Rodrigo Desessards Jardim,Carine Dahl Corcini +6 more
TL;DR: Results showed that cadmium can negatively affect some reproductive parameters in D. rerio, which may reduce the fertility rate of these animals, and this metal may damage aquatic animal reproduction.
Journal ArticleDOI
Maternal Transfer of Bisphenol A During Nursing Causes Sperm Impairment in Male Offspring
Ana Cristina Kalb,Ana Luiza Kalb,Tainã Figueiredo Cardoso,Tainã Figueiredo Cardoso,Cristina Gevehr Fernandes,Carine Dahl Corcini,Carine Dahl Corcini,Antonio Sergio Varela Junior,Pablo Elias Martinez +8 more
TL;DR: The results clearly demonstrate the danger of BPA transferred via lactation on sperm quality registered even after a long time-elapsed from exposure to this harmful chemical.
