Evaluating the use of whole-genome sequencing for outbreak investigations in the lack of closely related reference genome.
Mohamed M. H. Abdelbary,Laurence Senn,Estelle Moulin,Guy Prod'hom,Antony Croxatto,Gilbert Greub,Dominique S. Blanc +6 more
TL;DR: This study assessed the use of WGS in investigating an outbreak of a relatively understudied bacterial pathogen with no publicly available closely related reference genome and demonstrated that the Bcc outbreak isolates were closely related and were phylogenetically distinct from the 11 publically available Bcc genomes.
Journal ArticleDOI
SARS-CoV-2 seroprevalence in healthcare workers of a Swiss tertiary care centre at the end of the first wave: a cross-sectional study.
Sylvain Meylan,Urania Dafni,Frédéric Lamoth,Zoi Tsourti,Michael A. Lobritz,Jean Regina,Philippe Bressin,Laurence Senn,Bruno Grandbastien,Cyril Andre,Craig Fenwick,Valérie D'Acremont,Antony Croxatto,Isabelle Guilleret,Gilbert Greub,Oriol Manuel,Thierry Calandra,Giuseppe Pantaleo,Catherine Lazor-Blanchet +18 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the SARS-CoV-2 seroprevalence rate among healthcare workers was 10.0% (95% CI 8.7% to 11.5%).
Journal ArticleDOI
Early detection of extended-spectrum β-lactamase from blood culture positive for an Enterobacteriaceae using βLACTA test
TL;DR: Bacterial pellets from Enterobacteriaceae positive blood cultures prepared using ammonium chloride were tested for rapid detection of β-lactamase using the commercial βLACTA test and read after 30 minutes, exhibiting a sensitivity and specificity of 75% and 100% for the detection of third-generation cephalosporin resistance.
Journal Article
[SARS-CoV-2, a point in the storm]
Eliana Tadini,Matthaios Papamidimitriou-Olivgeris,Onya Opota,Estelle Moulin,Frédéric Lamoth,Oriol Manuel,Loïc Lhopitallier,Katia Jaton,Antony Croxatto,Bruno Grandbastien,Laurence Senn,Benoit Guery +11 more
TL;DR: An update of the knowledge currently available about the SARS-CoV-2 virus and its clinical manifestations, which is still little known today.
Journal ArticleDOI
Anti-SARS-CoV-2 Titers Predict the Severity of COVID-19
Ada Kritikos,Sophie Gabellon,J L Pagani,Matteo Monti,Pierre-Yves Bochud,Oriol Manuel,Alix T. Coste,Gilbert Greub,Matthieu Perreau,Giuseppe Pantaleo,Antony Croxatto,Frédéric Lamoth +11 more
TL;DR: Serology testing at admission may be a good indicator to identify severe COVID-19 patients who will require invasive mechanical ventilation and serology performed well in predicting the necessity of invasive ventilation.
