Journal ArticleDOI

Interconversion and degradation of acyl and enolato-ligands in triosmium clusters

TL;DR: The bridging acyl compounds [HOs3(COR)(CO)10] derived from aldehydes, and bridging enolato-compounds derived from ketens, give decarbonylated products at 150 °C, some by interconversion of these two forms as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

New modes of attachment of C5 rings in organometallic compounds: X-ray crystal structures of the clusters [Os3H(Ph3PC5H3)(CO)x](x= 9 or 10) derived from cyclopentadienylidenetriphenylphosphorane

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors considered the compound to be zwitterionic with a phosphonium substituent at the five-membered organic ring which is co-ordinated as a µ-alkylidene to the metal atoms which carry a formal negative charge.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chelation of vinyl acetate and related unsaturated ketones: molecular structure of [Os3(CO)10(CH2CHOCOMe)]

TL;DR: In this article, the X-ray crystal structure of complex (1) has been determined, with a= 17.218(3), b= 13.407 (3), c= 8.597(3)A, β= 93.67(4)°, and Z= 4.
Journal ArticleDOI

Decarboxylation of vinylene carbonate at triosmium clusters; X-ray crystal structure of the µ3-formylmethylidene compound [Os3(CHCHO)(CO)10]

TL;DR: In this paper, the formylmethylidene compound [Os3H2(CHCHO)(CO)9] was shown to have a four-electron-donating µ3 bridge with two osmium atoms bridged by CO and an alkylidene group.
