Regulated expression of genes inserted at the human chromosomal beta-globin locus by homologous recombination

TL;DR: The results show that genes introduced at the beta-globin locus acquire some of the regulatory properties of globin genes during erythroid differentiation.
Journal Article

Mouse Sin3A interacts with and can functionally substitute for the amino-terminal repression domain of the Myc antagonist Mxi1

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that the mSin3A protein can associate with the strong repressive isoform of Mxi1 (Mxi1-SR) and that this association is necessary for the anti-Myc activity of MSin3-SR.
Journal Article

Reversal of tumorigenicity and the block to differentiation in erythroleukemia cells by GATA-1

TL;DR: It is reported here that the block to differentiation in MEL cells can be overcome by providing the cells with additional GATA-1, and it is shown that the gene for the cell cycle inhibitor p21 is transcriptionally regulated by GATA2 and is a likely downstream effector of GATA1 that helps to promote differentiation and proliferation arrest.
