Journal ArticleDOI
The effects of moisture susceptibility and ageing conditions on nano-silica/polymer-modified asphalt mixtures
TL;DR: In this paper, the performance characteristics of polymer-modified asphalt mixture (PMA) with the addition of nano-silica particles were investigated. And the results showed that 4% nano silica with PMA appears to have the greatest potential for beneficial modification of the asphalt binder.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparative study on using static and dynamic finite element models to develop FWD measurement on flexible pavement structures
TL;DR: In this article, a finite element model was developed by using the static and dynamic analyses in the ANSYS computer program, and a comparative study was conducted by using varying sizes of model geometry and different types of elements and sizes to determine how they affect the developed model.
Journal ArticleDOI
Integrated finite element and artificial neural network methods for constructing asphalt concrete dynamic modulus master curve using deflection time-history data
Asmah Hamim,Nur Izzi Md. Yusoff,Hend Ali Omar,Nor Azliana Akmal Jamaludin,Norhidayah Abdul Hassan,Ahmed El-Shafie,Halil Ceylan +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors used two types of ANN models, namely multilayer feed-forward neural network (MLFN) and radial basis function network (RBFN), to predict the AC |E*| master curve.
Journal ArticleDOI
Laboratory Evaluation on Steel Slag as Aggregate Replacement in Stone Mastic Asphalt Mixtures
TL;DR: In this article, the use of steel slag as an aggregate replacement in Malaysian SMA has been investigated, where two types of mixes; namely SMA14 and SMA20 were used in this study.
Journal Article
Evaluation of Malaysian hot-mix asphalt properties at different aggregate gradations
Asmah Hamim,Suzielah Ahmad,Mustakiza Zakaria,Mohamed Ali Hamuda Abgulgadir,Nur Izzi Md. Yusoff,Mohd Rosli Hainin,Riza Atiq Abdullah O.K. Rahmat +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of aggregate gradation on hot-mix asphalt (HMA) mixtures according to JKR specifications/1988 and JKR specification/rev. 2005.
