Composite fibrous filters for nano-aerosol filtration: Pressure drop and efficiency model
Dominique Thomas,Stéphanie Pacault,Augustin Charvet,Nathalie Bardin-Monnier,J.-C. Appert-Collin +4 more
TL;DR: In this article, a model was developed to predict the behavior of nonwoven filters clogged during the filtration of nanostructured particles (i.e. agglomerates of nanometric particles).
Journal ArticleDOI
Reuse of medical face masks in domestic and community settings without sacrificing safety: Ecological and economical lessons from the Covid-19 pandemic.
Jean-Pierre Alcaraz,Laurence Le Coq,Jérémie Pourchez,Dominique Thomas,Sandrine Chazelet,Isabelle Boudry,Maud Barbado,Sophie Silvent,Claire Dessale,Fabienne Antoine,Catherine Guimier-Pingault,Laurent Cortella,Sophie Rouif,Nathalie Bardin-Monnier,Augustin Charvet,Olivier Dufaud,Lara Leclerc,Yoann Montigaud,Coralie Laurent,Paul O. Verhoeven,Aurélie Joubert,Ala Bouhanguel,Yves Andres,Joël Gaffé,Donald K. Martin,Christophe Huet,Sandrine Boisset,Max Maurin,Pascal Rumeau,Frédéric Charlot,Emmanuel Richaud,Alexandre Moreau-Gaudry,Vincent Bonneterre,Philippe Cinquin,Caroline Landelle +34 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors report a workflow that provides a quantitative basis to determine the safety and efficacy of a medical mask that is decontaminated for reuse, with the goal of finding ways to reuse medical and respiratory masks in healthcare departments.
Journal ArticleDOI
Impact of relative humidity on a nanostructured filter cake – Experimental and modelling approaches
TL;DR: In this article, three different non-hygroscopic nanostructured powders were dispersed in dry air and filtered to create a nano-structured deposit, and the relative humidity was then gradually increased from 0 to 85% and the thickness of the deposit continuously measured using a laser trigonometry device.
Journal ArticleDOI
A performance evaluation and inter-laboratory comparison of community face coverings media in the context of covid-19 pandemic
Soleiman Bourrous,Mathieu Barrault,Victor Mocho,Stéphane Poirier,Nathalie Bardin-Monnier,Augustin Charvet,Dominique Thomas,A. Bescond,Axel Fouqueau,Tatiana Mace,François Gaie-Levrel,François-Xavier Ouf +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an analysis of 233 materials made of woven, non-woven and mixed fibrous material has been done in terms of filtration efficiency and air permeability.
Journal ArticleDOI
Multi-staged granular beds applied to the filtration of ultrafine particles: An optimization of collector diameters
Augustin Charvet,Loïc Wingert,Loïc Wingert,Nathalie Bardin-Monnier,Stéphanie Pacault,Frantz Fournier,Denis Bemer,Dominique Thomas +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, a granular bed with a collector diameter gradient was proposed to reduce the pressure drop increase while maintaining high collection efficiency by using a collector with a small collector diameter.
