Excess molar volumes of binary mixtures of diols and water

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present volumes d'exces des melanges eau-butaneiols 1,2, -1,3 et - 1,4, propanediol 1,3 and pentanediol-1,5
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Evaluation of the order parameter in nematic liquid crystals

TL;DR: In this paper, a simple method for determination of the orientational order parameter in nematic liquid crystals is described, where the discussion on microscopic level in determination of approximate S value can be omitted and the order parameter can be calculated directly from the macroscopic quantity measured in the experiment.
Journal ArticleDOI

Molecular structure of imide solutions: Part I. Propionimide in non-polar solvents

TL;DR: In this article, the dipole moment of the propionimide cyclic dimer is shown to be equal to zero, and the thermodynamic parameters describing the process of this dimerization are given.
Journal ArticleDOI

Study of Magnetic Fredericksz Transition in Ferronematics. Liquid Crystals Doped with Fine Magnetic Particles

TL;DR: In this article, the magnetic Fredericksz transition in ferronematics (thermotropic nematic liquid crystals 7CB and MBBA combined with fine magnetic particles of size 10 nm) was studied by using simple dielectric measurements.
