The Importance of Moisture in Hybrid Lead Halide Perovskite Thin Film Fabrication
Giles E. Eperon,Severin N. Habisreutinger,Tomas Leijtens,Bardo J. Bruijnaers,Jacobus J. van Franeker,Dane W. deQuilettes,Sandeep Pathak,Rebecca J. Sutton,Giulia Grancini,David S. Ginger,René A. J. Janssen,Annamaria Petrozza,Henry J. Snaith +12 more
TL;DR: A comprehensive and well-controlled study of the effect of moisture exposure on methylammonium lead halide perovskite film formation and properties finds that films formed in higher humidity atmospheres have a less continuous morphology but significantly improved photoluminescence, and that film formation is faster.
Journal ArticleDOI
Up-scalable sheet-to-sheet production of high efficiency perovskite module and solar cells on 6-in. substrate using slot die coating
Francesco Di Giacomo,Santhosh Shanmugam,Henri Fledderus,Bardo J. Bruijnaers,Wiljan Verhees,Maarten Dörenkämper,Sjoerd Veenstra,Weiming Qiu,Robert Gehlhaar,Tamara Merckx,Tom Aernouts,Ronn Andriessen,Yulia Galagan +12 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a sheet-to-sheet slot die coating process for perovskite solar cells and modules has been demonstrated on 6.5 × 13.5 cm 2 glass/ITO substrates.
Journal ArticleDOI
2-Methoxyethanol as a new solvent for processing methylammonium lead halide perovskite solar cells
KH Koen Hendriks,Jacobus J. van Franeker,Bardo J. Bruijnaers,Juan A. Anta,MM Martijn Wienk,René A. J. Janssen +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the use of 2-methoxyethanol, which is a more volatile solvent, results in smaller crystals that still span the entire layer thickness and improves the surface coverage of perovskite films, reduces the leakage current and increases the open-circuit voltage and fill factor of solar cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
Monitoring thermal annealing of Perovskite solar cells with in situ photoluminescence
Jacobus J. van Franeker,KH Koen Hendriks,Bardo J. Bruijnaers,Mwgm Tiny Verhoeven,MM Martijn Wienk,Raj René Janssen +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, in-situ photoluminescence is used to determine the optimal time and temperature for thermal annealing of the perovskite layer of a solar cell.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of side chain length on charge transport, morphology, and photovoltaic performance of conjugated polymers in bulk heterojunction solar cells
Chunhui Duan,Robin E. M. Willems,van Jj Hans Franeker,Bardo J. Bruijnaers,MM Martijn Wienk,Raj René Janssen +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of side chain length on photovoltaic properties of conjugated polymers is systematically investigated with two sets of polymers that bear different alkyl side chain lengths based on benzodithiophene and benzo[2,1,3]thiadiazole or 5,6-difluorobenzo [2, 1,3]-thiaddiazole.
