Journal ArticleDOI

Analysis of auto-ignition of heated hydrogen–air mixtures with different detailed reaction mechanisms

TL;DR: In this paper, an unsteady laminar flamelet approach in mixture fraction space is used to numerically investigate the auto-ignition delay time and the most reactive mixture fraction as obtained with five chemical mechanisms.
Journal ArticleDOI

A solution for the odd-even decoupling problem in pressure-correction algorithms for variable density flows

TL;DR: A cure for a spurious mode for the pressure that can be suppressed by a pressure-weighted interpolation formula for the mass flux over a cell-face is presented in the framework of pressure-correction methods in variable density flow.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fireground location understanding by semantic linking of visual objects and building information models

TL;DR: The proposed approach allows to automatically create situational awareness, to improve localization and to facilitate the overall fire understanding, and the strengths of the proposed approach compared to the state-of-the-art is its (semi-)automatic workflow, generic and modular setup and multi-modal strategy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Axisymmetric Impingement Heat Transfer with a Nonlinear k-e Model

TL;DR: In this paper, a nonlinear κ-e model is applied to predict local convective heat transfer in impinging turbulent axisymmetric jets onto a flat plate, and the results are obtained for different geometrical setups (in particular a different nozzle-plate distance), both in terms of heat transfer and of flowfield predictions.
