Non-linear analysis of composite floor slabs with geometric orthotropy

TL;DR: In this paper, a new 2D flat shell element is proposed, for which the conventional Reissner-Mindlin hypothesis is modified to capture more accurately the influence of geometric orthotropy.

Realistic modelling of irregular slabs under extreme loading

TL;DR: In this article, a triangular flat shell element for reinforced concrete slabs of complex planar configuration subjected to extreme loading is presented, which is developed within a co-rotational f...

Translational surface coupling along a line with non-conforming meshes

TL;DR: In this paper , an original and systematic methodology for surface coupling along an arbitrary 1D interface, which is applicable to any type of 2D and 3D FEs, and which provides a systematic framework for: (i) geometric modelling of weld lines; (ii) coupling of regions with different levels of discretisation detail or element types within a system; and (iii) domain partitioning problems involving computationally heterogeneous partitions.
