A merger between compatible but divergent genomes supports allopolyploidization in the Brassicaceae family
Hosub Shin,Jeong Eun Park,Hye Rang Park,Woo Lee Choi,Seung Hwa Yu,Wonjun Koh,Seungill Kim,Hye Yeon Soh,Nomar Espinosa Waminal,Nomar Espinosa Waminal,Hadassah Roa Belandres,Joo Young Lim,Gibum Yi,Jong Hwa Ahn,June-Sik Kim,Yong-Min Kim,Namjin Koo,Kyung-Hee Kim,Sampath Perumal,Taegu Kang,Junghyo Kim,Hosung Jang,Dong Hyun Kang,Ye Seul Kim,Hyeon-Min Jeong,Junwoo Yang,Somin Song,Suhyoung Park,Jin A Kim,Yong Pyo Lim,Beom-Seok Park,Tzung-Fu Hsieh,Tae-Jin Yang,Doil Choi,Hyun Hee Kim,Soo-Seong Lee,Jin Hoe Huh +36 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors found that both genomes reside in the single nucleus of xBrassicoraphanus without genome loss or rearrangement, which may explain great diversification and expansion of angiosperms during evolution.
Journal ArticleDOI
In silico-selection of Brassica rapa organelle genome-derived BACs using their end sequences and sequence level comparative analysis of the 124 kb mitochondrial genome sequences in the family Brassicaceae
Jee Young Park,Soo-Jin Kwon,Beom-Soon Choi,Ki-Byung Lim,Yoon-Jung Hwang,Jin-A Kim,Yong Pyo Lim,Beom-Seok Park,Tae-Jin Yang +8 more
TL;DR: Gene orders showed no colinearity between Arabidopsis and Brassica even though 31 orthologous genes shared high sequence similarity with p-values over 1E-32, and most of them showed rare agreement between the in silico map and fingerprinting.
