Journal ArticleDOI
Significance of coprophagy for the fatty acid profile in body tissues of rabbits fed different diets.
Florian Leiber,Janina S. Meier,Bettina Burger,Hans-Rudolf Wettstein,Michael Kreuzer,Jean-Michel Hatt,Marcus Clauss +6 more
TL;DR: Using forage-only diets, compared to the oats supplemented diets, led to extraordinary high proportions of n-3 PUFA in the fat of adipose and lean tissue and differential distribution of functional FA between the two tissues investigated were found.
Journal ArticleDOI
Influence of diet on calcium metabolism, tissue calcification and urinary sludge in rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus).
Marcus Clauss,Bettina Burger,Annette Liesegang,F. Del Chicca,M. Kaufmann-Bart,Barbara Riond,Michael Hässig,Jean-Michel Hatt +7 more
TL;DR: Grass hay-dominated diets are to be recommended for rabbits in which urolithiasis prevention is an issue, due to the lower Ca content of grass hay, the significantly lower degree of urinary sludge formation, and the significantly higher water intake related with grass hay feeding.
