The State of Charge Estimation of Lithium-Ion Batteries Based on a Proportional-Integral Observer

TL;DR: The proportional-integral (PI) observer is proposed to estimate the SOC of lithium-ion batteries in EDVs, and the PI-based SOC estimation results are found to agree with the reference SOC generally within the 2% error band for both the known and unknown initial SOC cases.
Journal ArticleDOI

Three-dimensional thermal finite element modeling of lithium-ion battery in thermal abuse application

TL;DR: In this article, a three-dimensional thermal model has been developed for analyzing the temperature distribution under abuse conditions, taking into account the effects of heat generation, internal conduction and convection, and external heat dissipation.
Journal ArticleDOI

A new method to estimate the state of charge of lithium-ion batteries based on the battery impedance model

TL;DR: Based on the analysis of the impedance spectra obtained by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), a simplified battery impedance model is derived with the constant phase element (CPE), and a fractional order calculus (FOC) method is introduced to model the CPE in the impedance model as discussed by the authors.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Optimization of fractional order PID controllers based on genetic algorithms

TL;DR: The optimization design process based on genetic algorithms is analyzed in detail in this paper, in which the optimization performance target is the combination of ITAE and control input, and numerical simulation of FOPID controllers uses the method of Tustin operator and continuous fraction expansion.
