Journal ArticleDOI

A mammalian model for Laron syndrome produced by targeted disruption of the mouse growth hormone receptor/binding protein gene (the Laron mouse)

TL;DR: The findings indicate that the G HR/BP-deficient mouse (Laron mouse) is a suitable model for human Laron syndrome that will prove useful for the elucidation of many aspects of GHR/BP function that cannot be obtained in humans.
Journal ArticleDOI

Identification of growth hormone receptor (GHR) tyrosine residues required for GHR phosphorylation and JAK2 and STAT5 activation.

TL;DR: It is deduced that Y332, Y487, Y534, Y 566, and Y627 are pGHR tyrosine phosphorylation sites, which agrees with a previous report that Janus kinase 2 activation is independent of GHR tyrorosineosphorylation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Growth Hormone Promotes the Association of Transcription Factor STAT5 with the Growth Hormone Receptor

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that GH induces rapid tyrosine phosphorylation of different isoforms of STAT5 in mouse L cells stably transfected with a cDNA encoding porcine GHR (pGHR) and the GH-dependent interaction of a particular STAT5 with tyrosinesine-phosphorylated GHR may play an important role in GH-mediated signal transduction.
