Journal ArticleDOI

The influence of icephobic nanomaterial coatings on solar cell panels at high latitudes

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors present insights into the snow-related issues of photovoltaic plants in Norway and propose a preliminary approach to modelling these issues' influences at high latitudes using a co-simulation approach.

Utilization of Hollow Silica Nanospheres for thermal Insulation Purposes

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated synthesis parameters and properties of hollow silica nanospheres (HSNS) with the aim of reaching low thermal conductivity by exploiting the Knudsen effect.
Book ChapterDOI

Transmission through an Electrochromic Window based on Polyaniline, Tungsten Oxide and a Solid Polymer Electrolyte

TL;DR: In this paper, an electrochromic window was fabricated by combining polyaniline and tungsten oxide with a solid polymer electrolyte binding the two materials together, which showed good light modulation in the 400-900 nm wavelength region, e.g. from 16% to 86% at 800 nm.
Journal ArticleDOI

Operating Hardware Impact on the Heat Transfer Properties of Windows

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors demonstrate that the three-dimensional effects of non-continuous hardware can be approximated accurately with simpler two-dimensional (2D) simulations and then develop a simplified model based on weighted average capable of replacing the time and computation-intensive 3D simulations with 2D simulations and validate it against market available frames and their corresponding hardware.
