Journal ArticleDOI

Public health surveillance of multidrug-resistant clones of Neisseria gonorrhoeae in Europe: a genomic survey.

TL;DR: This work provides the first use of joint analysis of WGS and epidemiological data in an international programme for regional surveillance of sexually transmitted infections and provides a framework for genomic surveillance of gonococci through standardised sampling, use of W GS, and a shared information architecture for interpretation and dissemination.
Journal ArticleDOI

Identification of a genomic subgroup of BK polyomavirus spread in European populations.

TL;DR: A phylogenetic analysis based on complete BKV DNA sequences supported the hypothesis that there is geographical separation of European and Asian BKVs, and suggested that subgroup Ib-2 is widespread among Europeans, whereas Ic is unique to north-east Asians.
Journal ArticleDOI

Unique BK virus non-coding control region (NCCR) variants in hematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients with and without hemorrhagic cystitis.

TL;DR: Five previously unrecognized naturally occurring variants of the BKV are described which involve amplifications, deletions, and rearrangements of the archetypal BkV NCCRs in individuals with and without hemorrhagic cystitis.
