Journal ArticleDOI

Simultaneous MRI and PET imaging of a rat brain.

TL;DR: To test the device, simultaneous MRI and PET images of the brain of a male Sprague Dawley rat injected with FDG were successfully obtained and revealed no noticeable artefacts in either image set.
Journal ArticleDOI

The potential role of positron emission mammography for detection of breast cancer. A phantom study

TL;DR: The addition of the PEM system to a standard biopsy apparatus indicates its potential for use to guide some core biopsies of breast cancers and demonstrates the potential of PEM for the detection of breast lesions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Optimization of dedicated scintimammography procedure using detector prototypes and compressible phantoms

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used a matrix of NaI(Tl) scintillator pixels (made by Bicron Corporation) to detect small lesions inserted in gelatin breast phantoms under compression and in a noncompressed SPECT mode.
Journal ArticleDOI

Simultaneous acquisition of magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) data and positron emission tomography (PET) images with a prototype MR-compatible, small animal PET imager

TL;DR: Simultaneous MRS spectra and PET images were successfully acquired from a multi-modality phantom consisting of a sphere filled with 17 brain relevant substances and a positron-emitting radionuclide and no significant changes in MRI or PET scanner performance when both were present in the MRI magnet bore.
