Journal ArticleDOI

Matrix isolation infrared spectra of the 1:1 molecular complexes of sulfur trioxide with selected oxygen-containing bases

TL;DR: The 1:1 molecular complexes between SO/sub 3/ and a series of oxygen-containing bases have been isolated and characterized in nitrogen matrices as discussed by the authors, and the spectra of the complexes all showed a red shift and splitting of the antisymmetric stretching mode.
Journal ArticleDOI

Matrix isolation studies of the interaction of cyclopropane with strong lewis acids

TL;DR: In this article, the matrix isolation technique has been employed in conjunction with infrared spectroscopy to study the interaction of cyclopropane with the Lewis acids BF 3, BCl 3, BBr 3, SiF 4, and GeF 4.
Journal ArticleDOI

Matrix isolation and theoretical study of the reaction of HSiCl3 and CH3OH: infrared spectroscopic characterization of Cl2HSiOCH3

TL;DR: In this paper, the matrix isolation technique has been employed to investigate the reactions of SiCl 4 and HSiCl 3 with CH 3 OH, and the resulting product was identified as HCl 2 SiOCH 3, and conclusively identified by use of extensive isotopic labeling, the observation of HCl as an additional reaction product, and by comparison to density functional calculations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Matrix isolation study of the products and reactions pathways in the corona excited discharge of C6F6

TL;DR: In this article, the reaction products of C 6 F 6 and C 12 F 10 after exposure to a corona excited discharge were studied by the trapping of products into an argon matrix at 14 K. Infrared spectroscopy was employed to identify product species.
