Transformation of the phyllomanganate vernadite to tectomanganates with small tunnel sizes: Favorable geochemical conditions and fate of associated Co
Zhongkuan Wu,Zhongkuan Wu,Zhongkuan Wu,Bruno Lanson,Xionghan Feng,Hui Yin,Wenfeng Tan,Feng He,Fan Liu +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, the geochemical control on the tunnel size of tectomanganates formed from layered precursors has been investigated, and it has been shown that large tunnel sizes are favored under circum-neutral conditions, whereas low pH conditions favor the formation of smaller tunnel sizes.
Journal ArticleDOI
A quantitative and mechanistic model for the coupling between chemistry and clay hydration
TL;DR: In this article, an exchange formalism is proposed to describe smectite water vapor desorption isotherms using an exchange model that quantitatively accounts for the different hydration states and thus different water contents.
Journal ArticleDOI
Crystal Structure of Mixed-Layer Minerals and Their X-ray Identification: New Insights from X-ray Diffraction Profile Modeling
TL;DR: In this paper, experimental X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns represent the optimum approach to the structure determination of mixed-layer structures that are commonly found in natural clay-rich samples.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of cobalt doping on the reactivity of hausmannite for As(III) oxidation and As(V) adsorption.
Shuang Zhang,Hui Li,Zhongkuan Wu,Jeffrey E. Post,Bruno Lanson,Yurong Liu,B. Hu,Mingxin Wang,Lei Zhang,Mei Hong,Fan Liu,Hui Yin +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the reactivity of cobalt-doped hausmannite with aqueous As(III) and As(V) was studied, and the results provided new insights into the interaction mechanism between TMs and low valence Mn oxides and their effect on the geochemical behaviors of metal pollutants.
Journal ArticleDOI
Direct dating of brittle extensional deformation contemporaneous of Neogene exhumation of the internal zones of the Rif Chain
Philippe Münch,Jacinthe Caillaud,Patrick Monié,Olivier Grauby,Michel Corsini,Julia Ricci,Adrien Romagny,Melody Philippon,Bruno Lanson,Ali Azdimousa,Abdelkhalak Ben Moussa,Nicolas Arnaud +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors provide a direct dating of brittle deformation of internal zones of the Rif chain, in the Ceuta peninsula located in the westernmost part of the Gibraltar arc.
