Effects of surface characteristic on frosting and defrosting behaviors of fin-tube heat exchangers

TL;DR: In this article, three types of fin-tube heat exchanger with different surface characteristics were prepared and the effects of the surface characteristic on the frosting and defrosting behaviors of the heat exchangers were investigated experimentally.
Journal ArticleDOI

Study on the performance of a solar assisted air source heat pump system for building heating

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a new solar assisted air source heat pump system with flexible operational modes to improve the performance of the heating system, and the results showed that the COP of the heat pump unit was enhanced with the increase of the solar radiation density during the typical sunny day in the heating season.
Journal ArticleDOI

Research of anti-frosting technology in refrigeration and air conditioning fields: A review

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors reviewed anti-frosting techniques in refrigeration and air conditioning fields, including air dehumidification by solid/liquid desiccant, ultrasonic vibration, external electric/magnetic field, surface treatment, etc.
Journal ArticleDOI

Water harvesting method via a hybrid superwettable coating with superhydrophobic and superhydrophilic nanoparticles

TL;DR: In this paper, a new biomimetic method, inspired by the fog harvesting ability of hydrophobic-hydrophilic surfaces of Namib desert beetles, is presented, which envisages a low-cost preparation (by the photocatalysis of titanium dioxide through ultraviolet irradiation) of a titanium dioxide-silicon dioxide hybrid superwettable surface combining superhydrophobic and super hydrophilic nanoparticles and exhibiting excellent water/fog collection properties.
Journal ArticleDOI

Performance comparison of a heating tower heat pump and an air-source heat pump: A comprehensive modeling and simulation study

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a heating tower heat pump (HTHP) as an alternative to the conventional air-source heat pump to investigate the performance improvements of the HTHP over the ASHP, a comprehensive comparison between the two systems was carried out based on simulation study.
