Differences in Beef Quality between Angus (Bos taurus taurus) and Nellore (Bos taurus indicus) Cattle through a Proteomic and Phosphoproteomic Approach.
Rafael Torres de Souza Rodrigues,Mario Luiz Chizzotti,Camilo Elber Vital,Maria Cristina Baracat-Pereira,Edvaldo Barros,Karina Costa Busato,R. A. Gomes,Márcio Machado Ladeira,T. S. Martins +8 more
TL;DR: Differences in phosphorylated proteins involved in contraction and muscle organization, myofilaments expressed in fast or slow-twitch fibers and heat shock proteins localized in mitochondria or sarcoplasmic reticulum and involved in cell flux of calcium and apoptosis might be associated with differences in beef quality between Angus and Nellore.
Journal ArticleDOI
Broad range flavonoid profiling by LC/MS of soybean genotypes contrasting for resistance to Anticarsia gemmatalis (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae).
TL;DR: The metabolic profiles generated by LC/MS allowed the reconstruction of the flavonoid biosynthetic pathways, which revealed a constitutive character for herbivory resistance in the resistant genotype IAC-17 and a metabolic regulation for the rechanneling of Quercetin, Kaempferol and Genistein conjugates in soybean.
Journal ArticleDOI
Methyl jasmonate and salicylic acid are able to modify cell wall but only salicylic acid alters biomass digestibility in the model grass Brachypodium distachyon
Thiago Alves Napoleão,Giuliana Cristina Mourão Soares,Camilo Elber Vital,Carla E A Bastos,Robson Castro,Marcelo Ehlers Loureiro,Andrea M. Giordano +6 more
TL;DR: It is found that in response to salicylic acid or methyl jasmonate treatment, plant growth was reduced coupled with significant changes in cell wall composition, which will enable the development of new strategies to improve cell wall digestibility in bioenergy feedstock.
Journal ArticleDOI
An integrative overview of the molecular and physiological responses of sugarcane under drought conditions
Camilo Elber Vital,Andrea M. Giordano,Eduardo de Almeida Soares,Thomas C. R. Williams,Thomas C. R. Williams,Rosilene Oliveira Mesquita,Rosilene Oliveira Mesquita,Pedro Marcus Pereira Vidigal,Amanda de Santana Lopes,Túlio Gomes Pacheco,Marcelo Rogalski,Humberto J.O. Ramos,Marcelo Ehlers Loureiro +12 more
TL;DR: The novel phosphoproteomics and redox proteomic analysis revealed the importance of posttranslational regulation mechanisms during sugarcane drought stress, and the shift to soluble sugar, secondary metabolite production, and activation of ROS eliminating processes in response to drought tolerance were mechanisms exclusive to cv.
Journal ArticleDOI
In vitro photoautotrophic potential and ex vitro photosynthetic competence of Pfaffia glomerata (Spreng.) Pedersen accessions
João Paulo Oliveira Corrêa,Camilo Elber Vital,Marcos Vinícius Marques Pinheiro,Diego Silva Batista,Jéssica Fernanda Laísca Azevedo,Cleber Witt Saldanha,Ana Claudia Ferreira da Cruz,Fábio M. DaMatta,Wagner Campos Otoni +8 more
TL;DR: Use of these genotypes with higher in vitro photoautotrophic potential can guarantee highly productive plants ex vitro because the biomass accumulation pattern observed in vitro matched that under greenhouse conditions.
