Differences in Beef Quality between Angus (Bos taurus taurus) and Nellore (Bos taurus indicus) Cattle through a Proteomic and Phosphoproteomic Approach.

TL;DR: Differences in phosphorylated proteins involved in contraction and muscle organization, myofilaments expressed in fast or slow-twitch fibers and heat shock proteins localized in mitochondria or sarcoplasmic reticulum and involved in cell flux of calcium and apoptosis might be associated with differences in beef quality between Angus and Nellore.
Journal ArticleDOI

Explaining meat quality of bulls and steers by differential proteome and phosphoproteome analysis of skeletal muscle.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that abundance and phosphorylation of glycolytic enzymes are associated with changes in beef tenderness and intramuscular fat and the correlation between some biomarker and meat quality traits were confirmed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Does sugar cane ensiled with calcium oxide affect intake, digestibility, performance, and microbial efficiency in beef cattle?

TL;DR: In this article, two trials were conducted to evaluate how calcium oxide (CaO) as an additive in sugar cane silage affects animal performance and diet digestibility, and there was a linear positive effect of the percentage of CaO on the apparent total and ruminal digestibility of nutrients, ruminal characteristics, and microbial efficiency.
