Journal ArticleDOI
The Arabidopsis Chromatin-Modifying Nuclear siRNA Pathway Involves a Nucleolar RNA Processing Center
Olga Pontes,Carey Fei Li,Pedro Costa Nunes,Pedro Costa Nunes,Jeremy R. Haag,Thomas S. Ream,Alexa Vitins,Steven E. Jacobsen,Craig S. Pikaard +8 more
TL;DR: It is hypothesized that maintenance of the heterochromatic state involves locus-specific Pol IVa transcription followed by siRNA production and assembly of AGO4- and NRPD1b-containing silencing complexes within nucleolar processing centers.
Journal ArticleDOI
An ARGONAUTE4-containing nuclear processing center colocalized with Cajal bodies in Arabidopsis thaliana.
Carey Fei Li,Olga Pontes,Mahmoud El-Shami,Ian R. Henderson,Yana V. Bernatavichute,Simon W. L. Chan,Thierry Lagrange,Craig S. Pikaard,Steven E. Jacobsen +8 more
TL;DR: The results suggest a function for Cajal bodies as a center for the assembly of an AGO4/NRPD1b/siRNA complex, facilitating its function in RNA-directed gene silencing at target loci.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dynamic regulation of ARGONAUTE4 within multiple nuclear bodies in Arabidopsis thaliana.
Carey Fei Li,Ian R. Henderson,Liang Song,Nina V. Fedoroff,Thierry Lagrange,Steven E. Jacobsen +5 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that AGO4 also localizes to a second class of nuclear bodies, called AB-bodies, which are found immediately adjacent to condensed 45S ribosomal DNA (rDNA) sequences, suggesting a dynamic regulation of AGO 4 within two distinct nuclear compartments in Arabidopsis.
Journal ArticleDOI
The splicing factor SR45 affects the RNA-directed DNA methylation pathway in Arabidopsis
TL;DR: DNA methylation establishment and maintenance defects present in sr45-1 mutants are enhanced in dcl3-1 mutant background, suggesting a synergistic cooperation between SR45 and DICER-LIKE3 (DCL3) in the RdDM pathway.
Journal ArticleDOI
Age-associated impairment of T cell immunity is linked to sex-dimorphic elevation of N-glycan branching
Haik Mkhikian,Ken L. Hayama,Khachik Khachikyan,Carey Fei Li,Raymond W. Zhou,Judy Pawling,Suzi Klaus,Phuong N. Tran,Kim M. Ly,A-du Gong,Hayk Saryan,Jasper L. Hai,D.G. Grigoryan,P. Lani Lee,Barbara L. Newton,Manuela Raffatellu,James W. Dennis,Michael A. Demetriou +17 more
TL;DR: In this article , the authors show that branching increases with age in females more than males, in naïve more than memory T cells, and in CD4+ more than CD8+ T cells.
