Journal ArticleDOI
Outcome after stroke attributable to baseline factors-The PROSpective Cohort with Incident Stroke (PROSCIS).
Carolin Malsch,Thomas G. Liman,Silke Wiedmann,Bob Siegerink,Marios K. Georgakis,Steffen Tiedt,Matthias Endres,Peter U. Heuschmann +7 more
TL;DR: The predictors for poor outcome identified in PROSCIS-B have a relevant impact on mortality and functional impairment one year after first-ever ischemic stroke and ranking of risk factors by population impact is not affected by the different statistical approaches.
Journal ArticleDOI
Chronic stress and temporalis muscle activity in TMD patients and controls during sleep: a pilot study in females.
Marc Schmitter,Alexandra Kares-Vrincianu,Horst Kares,Carolin Malsch,Hans J. Schindler,Hans J. Schindler +5 more
TL;DR: Work-related chronic stress seems to be associated with an increased level of temporalis muscle activity during sleep, and the factors “work overload” and “pressure to perform” were significantly correlated with the number of temporali muscle episodes per hour.
Journal ArticleDOI
Oral anticoagulation in patients with atrial fibrillation and acute ischaemic stroke: design and baseline data of the prospective multicentre Berlin Atrial Fibrillation Registry.
Karl Georg Haeusler,Serdar Tütüncü,Claudia Kunze,Johannes Schurig,Carolin Malsch,Janek Harder,Silke Wiedmann,Silke Wiedmann,Boris Dimitrijeski,Martin Ebinger,Martin Ebinger,Georg Hagemann,Frank Hamilton,Martin Honermann,Gerhard J. Nabavi,Andrea Rocco,Ingo Schmehl,Bettina Schmitz,Paul Sparenberg,Robert Stingele,Michael von Brevern,Enrico Völzke,Joanna Dietzel,Peter U. Heuschmann,Matthias Endres +30 more
TL;DR: About 60% of all registry patients with known AF received OAC at the time of stroke or TIA, and about 80% of those who were prescribed a NOAC were associated with NOAC prescription at discharge.
Journal ArticleDOI
Physicians' lifestyle advice on primary and secondary cardiovascular disease prevention in Germany: A comparison between the STAAB cohort study and the German subset of EUROASPIRE IV:
Theresa Tiffe,Caroline Morbach,Carolin Malsch,Götz Gelbrich,Valerie Wahl,Martin Wagner,Kornelia Kotseva,David R. Wood,Rainer Leyh,Georg Ertl,Wolfgang Karmann,Stefan Störk,Peter U. Heuschmann +12 more
TL;DR: In primary prevention, PLA was mainly determined by the presence of vascular risk factors, whereas in secondary prevention the level of PLA was higher in general, but the association between CVD risk factors and PLA was less pronounced.
Journal ArticleDOI
Off-label-dosing of non-vitamin K-dependent oral antagonists in AF patients before and after stroke: results of the prospective multicenter Berlin Atrial Fibrillation Registry.
Serdar Tütüncü,Manuel C. Olma,Claudia Kunze,Joanna Dietzel,Johannes Schurig,Cornelia Fiessler,Carolin Malsch,Tobias Eberhard Haas,Boris Dimitrijeski,Wolfram Doehner,Georg Hagemann,Frank Hamilton,Martin Honermann,Gerhard J. Jungehulsing,Andreas Kauert,Hans-Christian Koennecke,Bruno-Marcel Mackert,Darius G. Nabavi,Christian H. Nolte,Joschua Mirko Reis,Ingo Schmehl,Paul Sparenberg,Robert Stingele,Enrico Völzke,Carolin Waldschmidt,Daniel Zeise-Wehry,Peter U. Heuschmann,Matthias Endress,Karl Georg Haeusler +28 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors analyzed prevalence and predictors of NOAC off-label under-dosing in AF patients before and after the index stroke and found that under-dose of rivaroxaban or apixaban was associated with old age.
