Journal ArticleDOI

Cell type and stage specific transcriptional, chromatin and cell-cell communication landscapes in the mammary gland

TL;DR: The authors identified conserved genes, ligands and transcription factor (TF) associated with a specific lineage throughout life as well as genes and ligands specific for a particular stage of the mammary gland.

Mammary ductal epithelium controls cold-induced adipocyte thermogenesis

TL;DR: It is reported that cold-induced adipocyte UCP1 expression in a female mouse subcutaneous white adipose tissue (scWAT) is regulated by mammary gland ductal epithelial cells in the adipose niche, and an evolutionary role of mammary duct luminal cells in defending glandular adiposity during cold exposure is suggested.
