Journal ArticleDOI
Different fosA genes were found on mobile genetic elements in Escherichia coli from wastewaters of hospitals and municipals in Turkey.
TL;DR: In this article , the authors investigated the occurrence of fosfomycin-resistant (FosR) Gram-negative bacteria (esp. E. coli) in samples of city wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) and hospital sewage in Hatay, Turkey.
Journal ArticleDOI
Emergence and Characterization of Tigecycline Resistance Gene tet(X4) in ST609 Escherichia coli Isolates from Wastewater in Turkey
Cemil Kürekci,Xiaoyu Lu,Büsra Gülay Celil,H. Burak Disli,Mashkoor Mohsin,Zhiqiang Wang,Ruichao Li +6 more
TL;DR: The phenotypes and genotypes of bacteria carrying tet(X4) from wastewater in Turkey for the first time are characterized and indicate that continuous surveillance of the tet( X4)-bearing isolates in different environments worldwide should be strengthened.
Journal ArticleDOI
Disinfectant and heavy metal resistance profiles in extended spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL) producing Escherichia coli isolates from chicken meat samples.
TL;DR: In this article , extended spectrum β-lactamase producing (ESBL) Escherichia coli isolates (n = 60) obtained from chicken meat were characterized by Pulsed Field Gel Electrophoresis (PFGE) and further tested for disinfectant and heavy metal resistance phenotypically and genotypically.
Journal ArticleDOI
Design and modification of frog skin peptide brevinin-1GHa with enhanced antimicrobial activity on Gram-positive bacterial strains
TL;DR: Five new temporin like analogues are designed and examined their bioactivities, which exhibited significantly improved antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive bacterial strains and lower hemolytic activity compared to the previously reported brevinin-1GHa peptide.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cyclotide-rich fractions containing nanofibers by electrospinning: preparation, characterization and examination of antimicrobial activity
TL;DR: In this paper , cyclotide-rich fractions were mixed with 10% of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) solution and nanofibers were produced from this biocomposite mixture by electrospinning method.
