Emma Elizabeth Sigstad,César A.N. Catalán,Alicia B. Gutiérrez,Alicia B. Gutiérrez,Jesús G. Díaz,Jesús G. Díaz,Virgil L. Goedken,Virgil L. Goedken,Werner Herz,Werner Herz +9 more
TL;DR: The aerial parts of Stevia grisebachiana afforded, in addition to estafietin, 11αH,13-dihydroestafetin, dehydroleucodin, 10- epi -8-deoxycumambrin, hanphyllin and loliolide, seven new guaianolides and one new germacranolide, was confirmed by X-ray analysis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Glaucolides and related sesquiterpene lactones from Vernonia nudiflora and Chrysolaena propinqua
Alicia Bardón,Norma Kamiya,Carolina A. De Ponce De Léon,César A.N. Catalán,Jesús G. Díaz,Werner Herz +5 more
TL;DR: Aerial parts of Vernonia nudiflora furnished glaucolides A and B, one known and one new glaucide derivative, three new hirsutinolide derivatives and two new cadinanolides as well as several flavonoids and other common plant constituents as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Assessment of sesquiterpene lactones isolated from Mikania plants species for their potential efficacy against Trypanosoma cruzi and Leishmania sp.
Laura C. Laurella,Natacha Cerny,Augusto Ernesto Bivona,Andrés Sanchez Alberti,Gustavo Carlos Giberti,Emilio L. Malchiodi,Virginia Martino,César A.N. Catalán,Maria del Rosario Alonso,Silvia I. Cazorla,Silvia I. Cazorla,Valeria P. Sülsen +11 more
TL;DR: In an in vivo model of Trypanosoma cruzi infection, deoxymikanolide was able to decrease the parasitemia and the weight loss associated to the acute phase of the parasite infection, and while 100% of control mice died by day 22 after receiving a lethal T. cruziinfected mice survived, 70% of de oxymkanolide-treated mice survived.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sesquiterpene lactones, a labdane and other constituents of Urolepis hecatantha and chromolaena arnottiana
TL;DR: Aerial parts of Urolepis hecatantha afforded several heliangolides, a new labdane, the oleate of 9-hydroxy-Z, E -farnesol, new toxol and isopentenylacetophenone derivatives as well as a number of common plant constituents as mentioned in this paper.
