Trixanolide and germacratriene derivatives from Trixis grisebachii

TL;DR: In the aerial parts of Trixis grisebachii, a number of new sesquiterpene di- and triesters related to trixanolide and two new tetraesters derived from germacrene A, as well as some known compounds including dipterocarpol and 3-O-acetyldammarenediol-II were found as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antioxidant, hemolytic and cytotoxic activities of Senecio species used in traditional medicine of northwestern Argentina.

TL;DR: The total phenolics, flavonoids and caffeoylquinic acids contents, as well as radical scavenging, antioxidant, hemolytic and cytotoxic activities of aqueous extracts of all three species were determined, and S. nutans was the most active.
Journal ArticleDOI

Lippia integrifolia: Are there morphological, anatomical and biochemical differences among chemotypes?

TL;DR: The trans-nerolidol chemotype, which grows naturally in the province of La Rioja (Puerto Alegre), presents the best qualities for the medicinal use of the species, due to its higher yield in aqueous extracts and higher phenolic and flavonoid content.
Journal ArticleDOI

First total synthesis of heterocurvistone

TL;DR: The sesquiterpene ketone (±)-heterocurvistone was synthesized in eight steps and 12% overall yield from known methyl R-(+)-3-(4-methyl-3-cyclohexen-1-yl)-3-butenoate, readily available from R-( +)-limonene as mentioned in this paper.
