Hydro-chemo-mechanical processes in soil samples: monitoring through electrical resistivity tomography

TL;DR: In this article, a laboratory apparatus for 3D electrical resistivity tomography has been developed for monitoring geotechnical processes in which the knowledge of the water content and ionic concentration is particularly relevant.
Journal ArticleDOI

Preliminary analyses of an innovative soil improving system by sand/gravel injections–Geotechnical and geophysical characterization of a first test site

TL;DR: In this paper, an innovative soil improving system by injections of a sand/gravel mixture was developed by Novatek® through mechanical preload of the mixture by compression adopting a hydraulic jack.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Spectral analysis and correlation of ambient seismic noise. The case study of Madonna del Sasso (NW Italy)

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors analyzed the seismic recordings acquired at the potentially-unstable granitic cliff of Madonna del Sasso (NW Italy) from October 2013 to November 2014, and showed that the temporal variations in the spectral content and in the correlation of seismic noise can be related to both reversible and irreversible changes within the rock mass.
Journal ArticleDOI

Time-Lapse 3D Electric Tomography for Short-time Monitoring of an Experimental Heat Storage System

TL;DR: In this article, a thermal energy storage living lab was built nearby Torino (Northern Italy) to test the ability of the alluvial deposits of the northwestern Po Plain to store the thermal energy collected by solar panels.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effective Vs and Vp characterization from Surface Waves streamer data along river embankments

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented the application of a procedure (W/D procedure) for the seismic characterization of river embankments, specifically designed for surface waves streamer data.
