Journal ArticleDOI

Covalent attachment of metal chelates to proteins:the stability in vivo and in vitro of the conjugate of albumin with a chelate of 111indium

TL;DR: Measurements of the distribution of label in mice up to 23 days after injection suggest that metabolism of the labeled protein does not lead to binding of indium ions by transferrin, and demonstrates the kinetic inertness of the chelate.
Journal ArticleDOI

The attachment of metal-chelating groups to proteins: Tagging of albumin by diazonium coupling and use of the products as radiopharmaceuticals

TL;DR: A “bifunctional” chelating agent, containing both an EDTA group and a diazonium group, has been prepared and coupled to human serum albumin, and the extent of labeling under various conditions and the amino-acid sidechains labeled have been investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Attachment of fluorescent metal chelates to macromolecules using "bifunctional" chelating agents.

TL;DR: The use of “bifunctional” chelating agents to covalently attach stable chelates of terbium and europium to human serum albumin results in products whose lanthanide fluorescence may be studied easily at micromolar concentrations with standard instrumentation.
