Journal ArticleDOI

Faculty appointment and promotion in Taiwan’s medical schools, a systematic analysis

TL;DR: In this paper , the influence of the journal impact factor (JIF) on the FAP process was quantified by comparing its relative weight between papers with two extreme JIFs.
Journal ArticleDOI

Comparative proteomic analysis of rat aorta in a subtotal nephrectomy model

TL;DR: These studies provide a repertoire of potential biomarkers related to the aortic stiffness in CKD and confirm the clinical significance of the secreted protein MFG‐E8, which was confirmed in 50 CKD patients, showing that increased serum MFG-E8 level is positively related to aortsic stiffness and renal function impairment.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evaluation of cardiac function by tissue Doppler echocardiography: Hemodynamic determinants and clinical application

TL;DR: Mitral annulus velocities by tissue Doppler echocardiography can be used to identify patients with declined dP/dt(max), prolonged tau and reduced EF, with good sensitivities and specificities.

Journal ArticleDOI

Acute vs chronic volume overload on arterial stiffness in haemodialysis patients.

TL;DR: By combining carotid pulse contour analysis with aortic outflow measurements, Le et al8 was able to demonstrate that acute volume removal improved aorti compliance in haemodialysis patients who had already attained dry weight and had normal systolic and diastolic function.
