Impacts of Spatiotemporal Anomalies of Tibetan Plateau Snow Cover on Summer Precipitation in Eastern China
TL;DR: Wang et al. as discussed by the authors investigated the relationship between the spatiotemporal distribution of winter-spring snow cover (SC) over the Tibetan Plateau and summer precipitation in eastern China using the singular value decomposition (SVD) method.
Journal ArticleDOI
Land-surface processes and summer-cloud-precipitation characteristics in the Tibetan Plateau and their effects on downstream weather: a review and perspective
Yunfei Fu,Yaoming Ma,Lei Zhong,Lei Zhong,Yuanjian Yang,Xueliang Guo,Chenghai Wang,Xiaofeng Xu,Kun Yang,Kun Yang,Xiangde Xu,Liping Liu,Guangzhou Fan,Yueqing Li,Donghai Wang +14 more
TL;DR: The results show that the form drag related to the topography, land–atmosphere momentum and scalar fluxes is an important part of the parameterization process and the sensible heat flux decreased especially in the central and northern TP caused by the decrease in wind speeds and the differences in the ground-air temperatures.
Journal ArticleDOI
Recent Progress in Studies of the Variabilities and Mechanisms of the East Asian Monsoon in a Changing Climate
TL;DR: A review of recent advances in studies of the variabilities and mechanisms of the EAM is presented in this paper, focusing on the interannual to interdecadal time scales.
Journal ArticleDOI
Water storage effect of soil freeze-thaw process and its impacts on soil hydro-thermal regime variations
Kai Yang,Chenghai Wang +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the basic role of freeze-thaw-process (FTP) in soil water and heat transport and its impact on soil moisture and temperature variation were investigated using the observations and numerical experiments with and without FTP in Community Land Model version 4.5.
Journal ArticleDOI
Trends in precipitation recycling over the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau in last decades
Yipeng Guo,Chenghai Wang +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors calculated the annual and inter-annual variations in the precipitation recycling ratio (PRR) on the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau (QXP); and by using water mass balance equation, evaluated the estimated evaporation in the area.
