Journal ArticleDOI

High-entropy Al0.3CoCrFeNi alloy fibers with high tensile strength and ductility at ambient and cryogenic temperatures

TL;DR: In this paper, high-entropy alloys (HEAs) are multi-component systems based on novel alloy composition designs with entropy maximization They feature an array of unique mechanical properties when compared with traditional alloys.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of welding wire composition on the repair welds of sand-cast Mg–Gd–Y alloy: Microstructure and mechanical properties

TL;DR: In this paper , the impact of welding wire composition on the microstructures and mechanical properties of Mg-Gd-3Y repair welds was investigated, and the results illustrated that the Zr in the Mg−6Gd−3Y-0.5Zr welding wire promoted the grain refinement in the fusion zone (FZ) of the repair weld, and VW63K FZ performed better thermal stability when subjected to 500 °C for 6 h.
