Journal ArticleDOI
High prevalence of hepatitis B and hepatitis C virus infections in Korean patients with hematopoietic malignancies
Jun Kang,Jeong Hyun Cho,Cheol Won Suh,Dae Ho Lee,Heung Bum Oh,Yong Hak Sohn,Hyun Sook Chi,Chan Jeong Park,Sung Soo Jang,Kyoo Hyung Lee,Je-Hwan Lee,Jung-Hee Lee,Sang-wook Lee,Young Hwa Chung,Tae Hyup Kim,Hai-Rim Shin,Jooryung Huh +16 more
TL;DR: HBV seems to have a more important role than HCV in the pathogenesis of specific hematologic malignancies in Korea, and infection was associated with increased risks for most subtypes of B and T/NK-cell lymphomas, Hodgkin’s lymphoma, and acute myeloid leukemia.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prognostic Factors and Clinical Outcomes of High-Dose Chemotherapy followed by Autologous Stem Cell Transplantation in Patients with Peripheral T Cell Lymphoma, Unspecified: Complete Remission at Transplantation and the Prognostic Index of Peripheral T Cell Lymphoma Are the Major Factors Predictive of Outcome
Deok Hwan Yang,Won Seog Kim,Seok Jin Kim,Sung Hwa Bae,Sung-Hyun Kim,Inho Kim,Sung-Soo Yoon,Yeung-Chul Mun,Ho Jin Shin,Yee Soo Chae,Jae Yong Kwak,Hawk Kim,Min Kyoung Kim,Jin Seok Kim,Jong Ho Won,Je-Jung Lee,Cheol Won Suh +16 more
TL;DR: Poor performance status, high lactate dehydrogenase levels, high a-IPI score, high PIT classes, failure to achieve complete response (CR) at transplantation, and nonfrontline transplantation were associated with poor OS.

ORIGINALARTICLE : Clinical characteristics, pathological distribution, and prognostic factors in non-Hodgkin lymphoma of Waldeyer’s ring: nationwide Korean study
Seong Jun Lee,Cheol Won Suh,Soonil Lee,Won Kim,Won Sik Lee,Hyo Jung Kim,Chul Won Choi,Jin Seok Kim,Ho Jin Shin +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, the pathological distribution of Waldeyer's ring lymphoma and its clinical features were analyzed retrospectively, and multivariate analyses showed that age ≥ 62 years, T-cell subtype, and failure to achieve complete remission were significant risk factors for overall survival.
Journal ArticleDOI
Significantly better prognosis for patients with primary plasma cell leukemia than for patients with secondary plasma cell leukemia.
TL;DR: The patients with primary PCL showed better prognosis than those with secondary PCL, and Primary PCL might be a differently developed disease from MM.
Journal ArticleDOI
Clinical characteristics, pathological distribution, and prognostic factors in non-Hodgkin lymphoma of Waldeyer's ring: Nationwide Korean study
Seong Jun Lee,Cheol Won Suh,Soon Il Lee,Won Seog Kim,Won Sik Lee,Hyo Jung Kim,Chul Won Choi,Jin Seok Kim,Ho Jin Shin +8 more
TL;DR: DLBCL was found to have a higher incidence in Korea than those incidences reported by other WR-NHL studies, and T-cell lymphoma occurred more frequently than did follicular lymphoma.
