Journal ArticleDOI
Neuroprotection by Imipramine against lipopolysaccharide-induced apoptosis in hippocampus-derived neural stem cells mediated by activation of BDNF and the MAPK pathway.
Chi-Hsien Peng,Chi-Hsien Peng,Shih Hwa Chiou,Shih Hwa Chiou,Shih-Jen Chen,Yueh Ching Chou,Hung-Hai Ku,Cheng-Kuo Cheng,Chih-Ju Yen,Tung Hu Tsai,Yuh-Lih Chang,Chun-Lan Kao +11 more
TL;DR: IM can increase the neuroprotective effects, suppress the LPS-induced inflammatory process, and promote serotoninergic differentiation in NSCs via the modulation of the BDNF/MAPK/ERK pathway/Bcl-2 cascades.
Journal ArticleDOI
Correlation between microRNA-34a levels and lens opacity severity in age-related cataracts.
K. H. Chien,Shih-Jen Chen,Shih-Jen Chen,Jorn Hon Liu,H. M. Chang,Lin-Chung Woung,C. M. Liang,J. T. Chen,T. J. Lin,S. H. Chiou,Chi-Hsien Peng,Chi-Hsien Peng +11 more
TL;DR: Positive correlations among the severity of lens opacity, patient age, and miR-34a expression level in the lens epithelium of age-related cataracts for clarifying the role of miR.34a in the Lens Opacities Classification System III suggest that miR, 34a expression has a role in lens senescence.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nanotechnology-based drug delivery treatments and specific targeting therapy for age-related macular degeneration.
Tai-Chi Lin,Tai-Chi Lin,Kuo-Hsuan Hung,Kuo-Hsuan Hung,Chi-Hsien Peng,Chi-Hsien Peng,Jorn-Hon Liu,Lin-Chung Woung,Ching-Yao Tsai,Shih-Jen Chen,Shih-Jen Chen,Yan-Ting Chen,Yan-Ting Chen,Chih Chien Hsu,Chih Chien Hsu +14 more
TL;DR: The function of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and the pharmacological effects of anti‐VEGF‐A antibodies and soluble or modified VEGF receptors are discussed and the combination of antiangiogenic therapy and nanomedicines is summarized.
Journal ArticleDOI
Glutamate Stimulation Dysregulates AMPA Receptors-Induced Signal Transduction Pathway in Leber's Inherited Optic Neuropathy Patient-Specific hiPSC-Derived Retinal Ganglion Cells.
Yi-Ping Yang,Yi-Ping Yang,Phan Nguyen Nhi Nguyen,Phan Nguyen Nhi Nguyen,Tai-Chi Lin,Tai-Chi Lin,Aliaksandr A. Yarmishyn,Aliaksandr A. Yarmishyn,Wun-Syuan Chen,De Kuang Hwang,De Kuang Hwang,Guang-Yuh Chiou,Tzu-Wei Lin,Chian Shiu Chien,Chian Shiu Chien,Ching-Yao Tsai,Shih Hwa Chiou,Shih Hwa Chiou,Shih Hwa Chiou,Shih-Jen Chen,Shih-Jen Chen,Chi-Hsien Peng,Chi-Hsien Peng,Chih Chien Hsu,Chih Chien Hsu +24 more
TL;DR: This study successfully generated RGCs by differentiation of LHON patient-specific hiPSCs by modifying the protocol of differentiation to obtain a more enriched population of single-cell R GCs for LHON study, and found that LHON- specific hiPSC-derived were more defective in comparison with normal wild-type RGCS.
Journal ArticleDOI
Elevation of serum oxidative stress in patients with retina vein occlusions.
Kuan-Hsuan Chen,Kuan-Hsuan Chen,En‐Lin Hsiang,Min-Yen Hsu,Yueh Ching Chou,Yueh Ching Chou,Yueh Ching Chou,Tai-Chi Lin,Tai-Chi Lin,Yuh-Lih Chang,Yuh-Lih Chang,Ching-Yao Tsai,Tzu‐Hsuan Li,Tzu‐Hsuan Li,Lin-Chung Woung,Shih-Jen Chen,Shih-Jen Chen,Chi-Hsien Peng,De Kuang Hwang,De Kuang Hwang +19 more
TL;DR: The study aimed to measure the serum oxidative biomarker in patients with RVO to investigate further physical response and the contribution of oxidative stress behind clinical course of RVO.
