Neural network modeling of temperature behavior in an exothermic polymerization process
Chiaki Kuroda,Jinyoung Kim +1 more
TL;DR: In this study, the input nodes of cooling and heating operations are respectively integrated to only one node to improve adaptability and efficiency of networks and it was shown that the temperature changes caused by exothermic reactions could be easily estimated and predicted by such neural networks in the complicated polymerization processes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Product selectivity control induced by using liquid–liquid parallel laminar flow in a microreactor
Fumihiro Amemiya,Hideyuki Matsumoto,Keishi Fuse,Tsuneo Kashiwagi,Chiaki Kuroda,Toshio Fuchigami,Mahito Atobe,Mahito Atobe +7 more
TL;DR: Product selectivity control based on a liquid-liquid parallel laminar flow has been successfully demonstrated by using a microreactor to enable regioselective cross-coupling reaction of aldehyde with allylic chloride via chemoselectives cathodic reduction of substrate by the combined use of suitable flow mode and corresponding cathode material.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison of ultrasonic degradation rates constants of methylene blue at 22.8 kHz, 127 kHz, and 490 kHz
Daisuke Kobayashi,Chiemi Honma,Atsushi Suzuki,Tomoki Takahashi,Hideyuki Matsumoto,Chiaki Kuroda,Katsuto Otake,Atsushi Shono +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the degradation process of a model for hazardous organic compound methylene blue was investigated using ultrasonic irradiation, and the authors focused on the effects of ultrasonic frequency and ultrasonic power on the degradation rate constant.
Journal ArticleDOI
Electrode performance of a thin-film YSZ cell set on a porous ceramic substrate by rf sputtering technique
TL;DR: In this article, the difference in the electrode performance for the following three electrode-morphologies was clarified by measuring electrode impedance and/or overvoltages: (1) sputter-deposited Pt on a YSZ film or pellet, (2) spatter-deposed Pt fixed between a Y SZ film and a porous alumina substrate, and (3) paste-baked Pt on either a Y Z film or a pellet.
Journal ArticleDOI
Turbulent swirling flow in a circular pipe
TL;DR: In this article, the decay process of turbulent swirling flow in an axisymmetric circular pipe was analyzed and a method to estimate the tangential mean velocity distribution was proposed, where two basic new factors, viz. the imaginary inlet position of the swirl decay and the friction velocity Uθf for the swirling flow, were defined in order to investigate the distribution of the intensity of swirl Γ.
