TL;DR: The present study utilizes the satellite images to generate national level LULC maps at decadal intervals for 1985, 1995 and 2005 using onscreen visual interpretation techniques with minimum mapping unit of 2.5 hectares to conclude that this dataset has captured the maximum cumulative patch diversity frequency, indicating the detailed representation that can be attributed to the on- screen visual interpretation technique.
Journal ArticleDOI
Remote sensing based deforestation analysis in Mahanadi and Brahmaputra river basin in India since 1985.
Mukunda Dev Behera,Poonam Tripathi,Pulakesh Das,S.K. Srivastava,Partha Sarathi Roy,Chitiz Joshi,P. R. Behera,Jyotishman Deka,Pradeep Kumar,Mohammed Latif Khan,Om Prakash Tripathi,T. Dash,Y.V.N. Krishnamurthy +12 more
TL;DR: The predicted LULC of 2025 and corresponding LULC changes in these two basins acting as early warning, and with the past 2-decadal change analysis this study is believed to help the land use planners for improved regional planning to create balanced ecosystem, especially in a changing climate.
Journal ArticleDOI
Land-use and land-cover change in Western Ghats of India
Manish Kale,Manoj Chavan,Satish N. Pardeshi,Chitiz Joshi,Prabhakar Alok Verma,Partha Sarathi Roy,S. K. Srivastav,V. K. Srivastava,A. K. Jha,Swapnil A. Chaudhari,Yogesh Giri,Y. V. N. Krishna Murthy +11 more
TL;DR: It was observed that forest degradation has reduced from 1985–1995 to 1995–2005 and projecting the future (2025) spatial distribution of forest using coupled logistic regression and Markov model obtained important insights about the drivers and their impacts on LULC simulations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Intellectual Property Rights: Issues for Creation of Institutional Repository
TL;DR: The paper examines the implications of copyright in the context of populating IR, which is becoming one of the most popular tools for self-archival and dissemination of an organisation’s intellectual or scholarly output.
