Journal ArticleDOI

The hematopoietic system: a new niche for the renin-angiotensin system.

TL;DR: Evidence for a role for the renin system in the control of hematopoiesis at its different stages is reviewed and the clinical relevance and therapeutic applications offer a new area of clinical research.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of mineralocorticoid receptor gene disruption on the components of the renin-angiotensin system in 8-day-old mice

TL;DR: Results demonstrate that in the MR knockout mice model, RAS component expressions are differentially altered, renin being the most stimulated component and angiotensinogen and AT1 in the liver are increased, but the other elements of the RAS are not affected.
Journal ArticleDOI

Functional analysis of the human somatic angiotensin I-converting enzyme gene promoter.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that promoter activity was defined by the length of the ACE promoter sequence inserted into the construct, and the DNA transfection study in the presence of dexamethasone suggested that the potential glucocorticoid regulatory elements are not functional.
Journal ArticleDOI

Functional study of the germinal angiotensin I-converting enzyme promoter.

TL;DR: Polymerase chain amplification experiments indicate that the germinal specific promoter of the angiotensin I-converting enzyme (ACE) is completely extinguished in somatic tissues, and the analysis of the promoter shows the existence of two regulatory elements within the first 350 bp.
