Journal ArticleDOI
Cytotoxic metabolites from the fungal endophyte Alternaria sp. and their subsequent detection in its host plant Polygonum senegalense.
Amal H. Aly,RuAngelie Edrada-Ebel,Ine Dewi Indriani,Victor Wray,Werner E G Müller,Frank Totzke,Ute Zirrgiebel,Christoph Schächtele,Michael H.G. Kubbutat,Wenhan Lin,Peter Proksch,Rainer Ebel +11 more
TL;DR: From the Egyptian medicinal plant Polygonum senegalense the fungal endophyte Alternaria sp.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bioactive metabolites from the endophytic fungus Stemphylium globuliferum isolated from Mentha pulegium.
Abdessamad Debbab,AH Aly,RuAngelie Edrada-Ebel,Victor Wray,Werner E G Müller,Frank Totzke,Ute Zirrgiebel,Christoph Schächtele,Michael Kubbutat,Wenhan Lin,Mahjouba Mosaddak,A. Hakiki,Peter Proksch,Rainer Ebel +13 more
TL;DR: The endophytic fungus Stemphylium globuliferum was isolated from stem tissues of the Moroccan medicinal plant Mentha pulegium, and extracts of the fungus exhibited considerable cytotoxicity when tested in vitro against L5178Y cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
Active interaction of human A375 melanoma cells with the lymphatics in vivo.
Maria Papoutsi,Gerhard Siemeister,Karin Weindel,Stanislav I. Tomarev,Haymo Kurz,Christoph Schächtele,Georg Martiny-Baron,Bodo Christ,Dieter Marmé,Jörg Wilting +9 more
TL;DR: Tumor-induced lymphangiogenesis seems to be dependent to some extent on VEGF-C/flt4 interactions, but invasion of lymphatics seems to been a distinct mechanism.
Journal ArticleDOI
Anthraquinones and betaenone derivatives from the sponge-associated fungus Microsphaeropsis species: novel inhibitors of protein kinases.
Gernot Brauers,Ru Angelie Edrada,Rainer Ebel,Peter Proksch,Victor Wray,Albrecht Berg,Udo Gräfe,Christoph Schächtele,Frank Totzke,Günter Finkenzeller,Dieter Marme,Jürgen A. Kraus,Miriam Münchbach,Manuela Michel,Gerhard Bringmann,Karsten Schaumann +15 more
TL;DR: This is the first report wherein the (1)H and (13)C NMR data of the betaenone congeners are fully and unambiguously assigned on the basis of two-dimensional NMR spectroscopy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Induction of the blood-brain barrier marker neurothelin/HT7 in endothelial cells by a variety of tumors in chick embryos.
Maria Papoutsi,Haymo Kurz,Christoph Schächtele,Dieter Marmé,Bodo Christ,Felicitas Pröls,Jörg Wilting +6 more
TL;DR: Results show that the BBB marker, neurothelin, is expressed de novo in tumor endothelial cells, in contrast to other BBB markers such as the glucose transporter-1 which are downregulated in tumors.
