Journal ArticleDOI
Mechanistic understanding of the combined immunodeficiency in complete human CARD11 deficiency.
Henry Y. Lu,Mehul Sharma,Ashish Sharma,Ashish Sharma,Atilano Lacson,Ashley Szpurko,Joanne Luider,Poonam Dharmani-Khan,Afshin Shameli,Peter A. Bell,Gregory M.T. Guilcher,Victor Lewis,Marta Rojas Vasquez,Sunil Desai,Lyle McGonigle,Luis Murguia-Favela,Nicola A.M. Wright,Consolato Sergi,Eytan Wine,Christopher M. Overall,Sneha Suresh,Stuart E. Turvey +21 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the cellular, immunological, and biochemical basis of disease for 2 unrelated patients who presented with profound CID associated with viral and fungal respiratory infections, interstitial lung disease, and severe colitis.
Journal ArticleDOI
A 9-kDa matricellular SPARC fragment released by cathepsin D exhibits pro-tumor activity in the triple-negative breast cancer microenvironment.
Lindsay B Alcaraz,Aude Mallavialle,Timothée David,Danielle Derocq,Frédéric Delolme,Cindy Dieryckx,Caroline Mollevi,Florence Boissière-Michot,Joelle Simony-Lafontaine,Stanislas du Manoir,Pitter F. Overall,Sophie Tartare-Deckert,William Jacot,William Jacot,Thierry Chardès,Séverine Guiu,Séverine Guiu,Pascal Roger,Thomas Reinheckel,Catherine Moali,Emmanuelle Liaudet-Coopman +22 more
TL;DR: In this paper, N-Terminal Amine Isotopic Labeling of Substrates (TAILS)-based degradome analysis in a co-culture assay of TNBC cells and breast fibroblasts was investigated by amino-terminal oriented mass spectrometry of substrates.
Journal ArticleDOI
Global Profiling of Proteolysis from the Mitochondrial Amino Terminome during Early Intrinsic Apoptosis Prior to Caspase-3 Activation
Natalie C. Marshall,Theo Klein,Maichael Thejoe,Niklas von Krosigk,Jayachandran N. Kizhakkedathu,B. Brett Finlay,Christopher M. Overall +6 more
TL;DR: To examine the relatively unknown initial cleavage events occurring before the well-studied activation of caspase-3 in intrinsic apoptosis, this work quantitatively compared N-terminomes of mitochondria and their parent cells before and after initiation of apoptosis at very early time points.
Journal ArticleDOI
Measurements of probing velocity with an automated periodontal probe and the relationship with experimental periodontitis in the Cynomolgus monkey (Macaca fascicularis).
TL;DR: Probing velocity may be a useful clinical method for the ancillary measurement of early loss of the gingival attachment level and it can also detect biophysical changes in the dento-gingival junction of progressive inflammatory lesions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Use of a Fluorogenic Septapeptide Matrix Metalloproteinase Assay to Assess Responses to Periodontal Treatment
TL;DR: Monitoring patients by measurement of matrix metalloproteinase levels in gingival crevicular fluid with the quenched fluorescent substrate assay provides estimates of inflammatory status, periodontal destruction, and response to treatment, especially in more severe periodontitis lesions.
