Numerical Method for Multi-Alleles Genetic Drift Problem

TL;DR: A large number of studies have shown that the diffusion limit of the Wright--Fisher model is a degen...
Journal ArticleDOI

On the Cauchy–Born approximation at finite temperature

TL;DR: In this article, an asymptotic expansion is employed to derive a closed form expression for the first Piola-Kirchhoff stress, which takes into account the translational invariance and clarifies the removal of the zero phonon modes.

Behavior of different numerical schemes for population genetic drift problems

TL;DR: In this article, the authors focus on numerical methods for the genetic drift problems, which is governed by a degenerated convection-dominated parabolic equation, and show that the numerical methods should be carefully chosen and any method with intrinsic numerical viscosity must be avoided.

Energetically stable discretizations for charge carrier transport and electrokinetic models

TL;DR: A finite element discretization using a method of lines approached is proposed for approximately solving the Poisson-Nernst-Planck (PNP) equations, and a discrete energy estimate is established that resembles the familiar energy law for the PNP system.
