Journal ArticleDOI

Emerging usage of electrocoagulation technology for oil removal from wastewater: A review.

TL;DR: This paper presents a review of emerging electrochemical technologies used for treating oil-containing wastewater and summarizes the current applications of electrocoagulation for oil removal from wastewater.
Journal ArticleDOI

Disposable masks release microplastics to the aqueous environment with exacerbation by natural weathering.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors explore the changing characteristics and environmental behaviors of disposable masks when exposed to the shoreline environment and find that the melt-blown cloth in the middle layer of masks is particularly sensitive to UV irradiation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of short-chain organic acids on the enhanced desorption of phenanthrene by rhamnolipid biosurfactant in soil-water environment.

TL;DR: The results showed that the extent of phenanthrene desorption was more significant at pH 6 and 9.5, and was relatively lower in the DOM-removed soils with the addition of biosurfactant and SCOAs.
Journal ArticleDOI

Anaerobic digestion of livestock manure in cold regions: Technological advancements and global impacts

TL;DR: Anaerobic digestion (AD) is an effective process for waste management, pollution mitigation, renewable energy utilization, and greenhouse gas emissions reduction as mentioned in this paper, however, low temperature is one of the most limiting factors for the application of AD in many cold regions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Combined effects of DOM extracted from site soil/compost and biosurfactant on the sorption and desorption of PAHs in a soil-water system.

TL;DR: The results of this study will help to clarify the transport of petroleum pollutants in the remediation of HOCs-contaminated soils.
