Thermochemical characterization of banana leaves as a potential energy source

TL;DR: In this article, the authors characterized wet and semi-dried banana leaves through elemental and proximate analyses, lignocellulosic fraction and thermogravimetric analysis (TG/DTG), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and high heating value analysis to assess their use as biomass in generating energy through combustion; they were also assessed to determine the potential of obtaining value added products through pyrolysis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Oxidative fast pyrolysis of banana leaves in fluidized bed reactor

TL;DR: In this paper, the results suggest potential for generating fuel products and chemical inputs from fast pyrolysis of dried banana leaves by using bio-char and bio-oil in an auto-thermal fluidized bed reactor.
Journal ArticleDOI

Production of poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate) by Ralstonia eutropha in whey and inverted sugar with propionic acid feeding

TL;DR: C cultures were carried out with whey as substrate and Propionic acid, necessary for the copolymer production, was fed using two different strategies: pH regulation and pulses, and the influence of these strategies on the incorporation of 3-hydroxyvalerate monomer in theCopolymer using Ralstoniaeutropha cultures were studied.
Journal ArticleDOI

Direct contact membrane distillation for textile wastewater treatment: a state of the art review.

TL;DR: A comprehensive overview of the current progress in the application of DCMD for textile wastewater treatment based on the available state of the art and the future research directions for DCMD to achieve successful implementation in the textile industry are presented.
