Journal ArticleDOI
Neurobehavioural effects of pesticides with special focus on organophosphorus compounds: which is the real size of the problem?
TL;DR: There are sufficient data to conclude that neurobehavioural impairment might be the consequence of an acute poisoning, and possibly the consequences of relatively high and prolonged exposures to neurotoxic pesticides.
Journal ArticleDOI
Biological monitoring of exposure to tebuconazole in winegrowers
Silvia Fustinoni,R. Mercadante,Elisa Polledri,Federico Maria Rubino,Stefan Mandić-Rajčević,G. Vianello,Claudio Colosio,Angelo Moretto +7 more
TL;DR: Tebuconazole-OH and TEB-COOH in post-exposure urine samples are promising candidates for biomonitoring TEB exposure in agricultural workers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Immunomodulatory Effects of Occupational Exposure to Mancozeb
Claudio Colosio,Wilma Barcellini,Marco Maroni,Daniela Alcini,M Bersani,Domenico Maria Cavallo,A Galli,Pier Luigi Meroni,R Pastorelli,G P Rizzardi,Leonardo Soleo,Vito Foà +11 more
TL;DR: An increase in T-cell functional response was found in the exposed group, suggesting a slight immunomodulator effect of mancozeb in conditions of low-level, prolonged occupational exposure.
Journal ArticleDOI
Farmers’ exposure to herbicides in North Italy: Assessment under real-life conditions in small-size rice and corn farms
Federico Maria Rubino,Stefan Mandić-Rajčević,E. Ariano,Athanasios Alegakis,Monica Bogni,Gabri Brambilla,Gioia De Paschale,Anna Firmi,Claudio Minoia,Giuseppina Micoli,Simona Savi,Cristina Sottani,C. Somaruga,Roberta Turci,F. Vellere,Aristidis Tsatsakis,Claudio Colosio +16 more
TL;DR: This study helps define and confirm relationships between different exposure determinants, which can be used in the development of tools for risk assessment of exposure to pesticides in small and medium sized enterprises.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hepatitis E virus infection: an emerging occupational risk?
A de Schryver,K De Schrijver,Guido François,Ramona Hambach,M. van Sprundel,Ramin Tabibi,Claudio Colosio +6 more
TL;DR: A meta-analysis of 12 cross-sectional studies evaluating HEV immunoglobulin G (IgG) seroprevalence in individuals occupationally exposed to swine showed greater odds of seropositivity in the exposed group but also a high degree of heterogeneity, which suggested publication bias.
