Changes in DNA Methylation Patterns in Subjects Exposed to Low-Dose Benzene
Valentina Bollati,Andrea A. Baccarelli,Lifang Hou,Matteo Bonzini,Silvia Fustinoni,Domenico Maria Cavallo,Hyang-Min Byun,Jia Yi Jiang,Barbara Marinelli,Angela Cecilia Pesatori,Pier Alberto Bertazzi,Allen S. Yang +11 more
TL;DR: This is the first human study to link altered DNA methylation, reproducing the aberrant epigenetic patterns found in malignant cells, to low-level carcinogen exposure.
Journal ArticleDOI
Association between leukocyte telomere shortening and exposure to traffic pollution: a cross-sectional study on traffic officers and indoor office workers.
Mirjam Hoxha,Laura Dioni,Matteo Bonzini,Angela Cecilia Pesatori,Silvia Fustinoni,Domenico Maria Cavallo,Michele Carugno,Benedetta Albetti,Barbara Marinelli,Joel Schwartz,Pier Alberto Bertazzi,Andrea A. Baccarelli,Andrea A. Baccarelli +12 more
TL;DR: It is indicated that leukocyte telomere length is shortened in subjects exposed to traffic pollution, suggesting evidence of early biological aging and disease risk.
Journal ArticleDOI
Allergens in indoor air: environmental assessment and health effects.
TL;DR: To assess the environmental risk to allergen exposure or to verify if there is a causal relationship between the immunologic findings in a patient and his/her environmental exposure, sampling from the suspected environment may be necessary.
Journal ArticleDOI
VOCs and aldehydes source identification in European office buildings - The OFFICAIR study
Davide Campagnolo,Dikaia Saraga,Andrea Cattaneo,Andrea Spinazzè,Corinne Mandin,Rosanna Mabilia,Erica Perreca,Ioannis Sakellaris,Nuno Canha,Victor G. Mihucz,Tamás Szigeti,Gabriela Ventura,Joana Madureira,Eduardo de Oliveira Fernandes,Yvonne de Kluizenaar,Eric Cornelissen,Otto Hänninen,Paolo Carrer,Peder Wolkoff,Domenico Maria Cavallo,John G. Bartzis +20 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a source identification study was performed with principal component analysis (varimax rotation) on a database containing volatile organic compound (VOC) and aldehyde concentration data during summer and winter monitoring campaigns.
Journal ArticleDOI
Airborne particulate matter in school classrooms of northern Italy.
Sabrina Rovelli,Andrea Cattaneo,Camilla Paola Nuzzi,Andrea Spinazzè,Silvia Piazza,Paolo Carrer,Domenico Maria Cavallo +6 more
TL;DR: To a first approximation, the intervention proposed to reduce indoor particle levels did not seem to significantly influence the indoor fine PM concentrations, and the frequent opening of doors and windows appeared to significantly contribute to the reduction of the average indoor CO2 levels.
