Association of the CpG Methylation Pattern of the Proximal Insulin Gene Promoter with Type 1 Diabetes

TL;DR: The observation of a CpG-specific, locus-specific methylation pattern, although it can provide an epigenetic biomarker of a multifactorial disease, does not indicate whether the reported epigenetic pattern preexists or follows the establishment of T1D.
Journal ArticleDOI

Role of DNA methylation at the placental RTL1 gene locus in type 1 diabetes.

TL;DR: The DMR identified in this study presents suggestive evidence for altered methylation site in T1D and provides a promising new candidate gene, and suggests that hypo‐methylation could increase the fetal exposure to environmental factors in T 1D susceptibility.
Journal ArticleDOI

Optoproteomics elucidates the interactome of L-type amino acid transporter 3 (LAT3)

TL;DR: The application of genetic code expansion in combination with photo-crosslinking chemistry, as well as "optoproteomics", to identify proteins interacting with the human L-type membrane amino acid transporter 3 (LAT3), validating the approach and providing insights into the LAT3 protein-protein interaction network currently unavailable.
