Journal ArticleDOI
Polyamide membrane with nanocluster assembly structure for desalination
TL;DR: In this paper, the structure of polyamide (PA) nanofilm formed via interfacial polymerization (IP) is investigated and the main skeleton is composed of sub-10 nm nanoclusters.
Journal ArticleDOI
Separation and anti-dye-deposition properties of polyamide thin-film composite membrane modified via surface tertiary amination followed by zwitterionic functionalization
TL;DR: In this article, surface tertiary amination was conducted through grafting polyethyleneimine (PEI) onto the surface of base membrane at the sites of carboxylic groups activated by 1-ethyl-3-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)-carbodiimide.
Journal ArticleDOI
A facile approach to fabricate composite anion exchange membranes with enhanced ionic conductivity and dimensional stability for electrodialysis
TL;DR: In this article, three types of composite anion exchange membranes (AEMs) based on quaternized polysulfone (QPSU) and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) blends were investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Preparation and properties of PEC nanocomposite membranes with carboxymethyl cellulose and modified silica.
TL;DR: Ionic bonds were introduced between the poly(2-acrylamido-2-methylproanesulfonic acid) modified silica (SiO2-PAMPS) and the polyelectrolyte complex (PEC) matrix and the PECNMs exhibited a flux of 2,400 gm(-2)h(-1) with a high separation factor of 4491 at 70°C.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of feed water characteristics on nanofiltration separating performance for brackish water treatment in the Huanghuai region of China
TL;DR: In this article, Li et al. simulated a brackish groundwater quality, which represented typically the water quality in the Huanghuai region of China, was simulated and used to run a bench-scale ultrafiltration (UF)-nanofiltration (NF) system.
