Journal ArticleDOI

The impact of anthropogenic land-cover change on the Florida Peninsula Sea Breezes and warm season sensible weather

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a numerical modeling study in which the possible impacts of anthropogenic land cover change on the warm season climate of the Florida peninsula region were investigated for three separate July-August periods.
Journal ArticleDOI

A new paradigm for assessing the role of agriculture in the climate system and in climate change

TL;DR: The authors discusses the diverse climate forcings that impact agricultural systems, and contrasts the current paradigm of using global models downscaled to agricultural areas (a top-down approach) with a new paradigm that first assesses the vulnerability of agricultural activities to the spectrum of environmental risk including climate (a bottom-up approach).
Journal ArticleDOI

Wetlands: crop freezes and land-use change in Florida.

TL;DR: Evidence from a case study using a coupled atmosphere and land-surface computer-modelling system suggests that the draining of wetlands may have inadvertently increased the frequency and severity of agriculturally damaging freezes in the south of Florida.
